Job Title: CMDB Analyst

Job Summary:
We are looking for a CMDB Analyst to join our IT Service Management (ITSM) team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring accurate data collection, classification, and lifecycle management of Configuration Items (CIs). You will collaborate with IT teams to enhance data integrity, streamline IT processes, and support automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
CMDB Management & Data Integrity:
- Maintain and update the CMDB, ensuring accurate records of CIs, servers, network gear, and applications.
- Implement standard naming conventions and prevent duplicate CIs.
- Perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with ITIL best practices.
- Provide reports and metrics on CMDB status and data quality.
Service Mapping & Event Management:
- Create and validate ServiceNow service maps/patterns to support automated service health dashboards.
- Enhance ServiceNow event rules to ensure proper CMDB binding.
- Work with technical SMEs to gather information and validate service maps.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for impact rules and event management.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Work closely with IT, Infrastructure, Application, and Security teams to ensure data consistency.
- Facilitate communication between teams to improve CMDB management and ITSM processes.
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities within CMDB management.
- Develop and maintain best practices, standards, and procedures for efficient CMDB usage.
Tool Administration & Support:
- Administer CMDB tools, ensuring proper functionality and integration with IT systems.
- Provide training and support to users on CMDB processes and tools.
Migration & Onboarding Support:
- Assist in onboarding new business units and users onto CMDB.
- Participate in workshops to assess CMDB needs and propose onboarding solutions.
- Support IT tool migrations and ensure a smooth transition of CMDB data.
Required Skills & Experience:
✔ 2-4 years of experience in ITSM processes, primarily in CMDB management.
✔ Strong understanding of ITIL & ITSM fundamentals (ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 certification preferred).
✔ Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB.
✔ Experience in continuous improvement methods and process automation.
✔ Knowledge of Service Mapping, Event Management, and ITOM capabilities.
✔ Strong analytical skills with the ability to prevent duplicate CIs and ensure accurate data classification.
✔ Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
