Job Description: 

The University Human Resources Manager at University plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the human resources functions to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the university's workforce. This position involves strategic planning, policy development, and leadership in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and overall HR administration. 

Responsibilities: 

Strategic HR Planning: 

Collaborate with university leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the university's mission and goals. 

Analyze workforce trends and provide recommendations for organizational development and talent management. 

Recruitment and Staffing: 

Lead the recruitment process for faculty, staff, and administrative positions. 

Develop and implement effective and inclusive recruitment strategies. 

Conduct and oversee orientation programs for new hires. 

Employee Relations: 

Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances. 

Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees. 

Ensure fair and consistent application of university policies and procedures. 

Performance Management: 

Implement performance management programs to enhance employee performance and development. 

Coordinate the annual performance appraisal process. 

Provide training and support to supervisors and employees on performance-related matters. 

Policy Development and Compliance: 

Develop and update HR policies and procedures in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. 

Ensure adherence to university policies and legal requirements. 

Stay informed about changes in employment laws and regulations. 

Employee Benefits and Compensation: 

Administer employee benefits programs. 

Collaborate with finance to manage salary and compensation structures. 

Conduct periodic salary reviews and market analyses. 

Training and Development: 

Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs. 

Facilitate workshops on HR-related topics for university employees. 

HR Administration: 

Oversee HR record-keeping and data management. 

Prepare reports and metrics related to HR activities. 

Manage HRIS systems and ensure data accuracy. 

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 

Several years of progressive experience in human resources management, preferably in a higher education setting. 

Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. 

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
