Job Title: Training & Placement Manager 

Department: Career Services

Reports To: Director, Career Services.

Job Summary:

The Training & Placement Manager plays a pivotal role in the Career Services department, by developing and implementing initiatives that bridge the gap between students and potential employers. This role requires an experienced and well-connected professional to build strong relationships with corporate partners, identify internship and job opportunities, and equip students with the necessary skills to excel in the job market.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate recruiters from various industries, particularly those relevant academic programs.
  • Identify and secure internship and full-time job opportunities for students aligned with their academic interests and career aspirations.
  • Organize and conduct industry-specific workshops, career fairs, and skill development programs for students.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to equip students with essential job search skills, including resume writing, interview preparation, and professional networking.
  • Manage and maintain the University's online job portal, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for both students and employers.
  • Track student placement rates and identify areas for improvement in the Career Services program.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and job market demands to adapt training programs and strategies accordingly.
  • Liaise with academic departments to understand student skillsets and career goals.
  • Build and maintain a positive image of Indus University among potential employers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Training & Placement or a similar role within the education sector.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate recruiters.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs on career development and job search skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and applicant tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within the same industry as focus areas.
  • Demonstrated success in exceeding student placement targets.
  • Understanding of current industry trends and job market demands.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
