Position Summary:
The Professor in the Information Technology (IT) Department will provide leadership in teaching, research, and academic administration. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction, leading significant research initiatives, mentoring junior faculty and students, and contributing to the strategic development of the department and institution.
Key Responsibilities:
· Teaching and Instruction:
o Deliver advanced-level lectures, seminars, and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in IT.
o Develop, review, and update course materials, including syllabus, lesson plans, and assessment tools.
o Evaluate and grade students’ academic performance through assignments, exams, and practical work.
o Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that fosters student engagement and academic success.
· Research and Scholarly Activities:
o Lead and conduct high-impact research in specialized areas such as Cybersecurity, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, or Network Administration.
o Publish research findings in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
o Seek and secure research funding, write grant proposals, and collaborate with other researchers and institutions.
o Supervise and mentor Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers, providing guidance on their research projects and career development.
· Curriculum Development:
o Spearhead the development and revision of course content and instructional materials to ensure alignment with academic and industry standards.
o Contribute to the design and implementation of innovative teaching strategies and curriculum enhancements.
· Supervision and Mentoring:
o Provide leadership and mentorship to junior faculty members, including support in teaching and research activities.
o Foster a collaborative and supportive environment for faculty and students within the department.
· Departmental and Institutional Service:
o Lead and participate in departmental meetings, committees, and strategic planning activities.
o Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies, academic programs, and quality enhancement initiatives.
o Engage in institutional service, including serving on committees and participating in outreach and community engagement activities.
· Professional Development:
o Stay abreast of advancements in IT and educational methodologies.
o Engage in continuous professional development through workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance teaching and research skills.
Qualifications:
· Educational Qualifications:
o A master's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field with first class from a recognized institution.
o A Ph.D. in Information Technology or a related field is required.
· Experience:
o At least 10 years of teaching experience in a university or recognized educational institution, with a proven record of research and scholarly activities.
o Demonstrated leadership in academic administration and curriculum development.
o Experience in supervising postgraduate and doctoral students is essential.
· Skills:
o Expertise in specialized areas of IT, such as Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Data Science, or Network Administration.
o Strong research skills with a substantial record of publications in high-impact journals.
o Proficiency in modern teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
o Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to lead and manage academic and research initiatives effectively.
