Their role typically involves creating and maintaining disaster recovery plans (DRPs), conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that critical business functions can continue during and after a disaster.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs):

Create comprehensive plans that outline procedures for recovery.

Ensure plans are aligned with organizational goals and compliance requirements.

Conduct Risk Assessments:

Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities to the organization.

Evaluate the impact of various disaster scenarios on business operations.

Testing and Maintenance:

Regularly test DRPs through simulations and drills.

Update plans based on test results and changes in the organization.

Training and Awareness:

Educate staff on disaster recovery procedures and their roles during a disaster.

Promote a culture of preparedness within the organization.

Collaboration:

Work with IT, security, and other departments to ensure a cohesive recovery strategy.

Liaise with external vendors and stakeholders as necessary.
